Can I have some advice with the law please?

While on holiday I have bought an antique 1860 Enfield rifle as an ornament for my home following advice from a friend that British law will allow me to bring it into the country as it is over 100 years old. Is this the case and are there any declarations/forms I need to complete before I attempt to bring it back into the UK.
