Why do people believe in god? Is it for truth,freedom,perhaps even love?Or is it just a human need(cont. desc)?

It's clearly not a necessity, as non-religious people exist. People believe in deities for various reasons. Some need answers to questions that science has yet to resolve, and religion, in part, serves to answer those questions. Others believe because that is the way they were raised, or they've decided to believe to please others. I believe that the general population of believers accept religion because it provides a guideline to their lifestyle and a community of other believers who provide a sense of belonging.
