Hi..i have a advent laptop im not so good at but it doesnt read cds or dvd cd-dvd/rw-drive its missing help p

I had this problem once with a Compaq laptop. I took it to a friends house, in other words moved it and when i got there the Optical drive was gone from My computer and would not open or be recognise, i just restarted my laptop a couple of times so was fortunate, if this doesn't work for you possible connections from the disc drive to the motherboard have come loose, try opening up you laptop to have a look or take it into a PC repair place for them to have a look at
