Why doesn't my terminator carbon fiber hood fit on my 03 tiburon?!?

PLEASE DO NOT RESPOND WITH "you probably have the wrong hood" because i even called VIS RACING to make sure it's the right hood. Everything fits flush but the hood won't close all the way (about 1 to 2 inch gap). It looks like the engine cpver & engine bay cover are stopping the hood from closing due to the dented in slits design of the hood. Would removing the covers make it work?will it be sketchy for the hood to be that close to the engine? HELP ME! anyone else have this problem?
