I was told by an audiologist my 3 month old has hearing loss, what to do?

My triplets were screened for hearing when they were a month old, and it was suspected that one of them had hearing loss, they were not sure of the degree, and that she should see an audiologist at 3 months. She saw the audiologist last Thursday, and I was told that she does have severe hearing loss, to book an appointment for when she is 6 months and to starting considering options such as intervention and hearing aids... I was handed some brochures and business cards by the office staff and walked out... This is the first I've had the time to get on here and ask, but as a mother what should I be doing over these next few months? I feel clueless and helpless.... What steps could I take to help her now? I don' t understand why we have to wait until 6 months to take any action.
